Backlog Predicted for EB-2 Worldwide and EB-3 Worldwide Visas
January 14, 2020 | United States of America
In 2020, select employment-based visa categories (EB-2 and EB-3) may encounter a backlog earlier than usual. Although both visa categories are still listed as “current” by the U.S. Department of State, their cutoff dates may arrive by March or April in 2020. In the past, neither category has reached a backlog until late summer.
The U.S. Department of State notes that the increase in EB-2 and EB-3 applications comes from an above-average volume of adjustment of status cases received by USCIS.
With cutoff dates forecast for in just a few months, USCIS advises EB-2 and EB-3 applicants to file I-485 forms as soon as possible to avoid delays in application processing.
