Electronic Payments Now Required for Visas on Arrival

June 5, 2018 | Nigeria

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria has announced that, effective immediately, federal airports in Nigeria will no longer accept cash payments.

Visa on arrival applicants entering Nigeria via Murtala Muhammed International Airport or Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport will be required make government fee payments electronically, either via debit card at the airport or via the Nigerian government website before arrival.

The new rule is intended to streamline processing, improve the tracking of payments and travelers, and minimize corruption.
