Revised Checklist and In-Person Appearance Required for Special Non-Immigrant 47(a)(2) Visa Applications in Manila
February 10, 2020 | Philippines
Per an advisory issued by the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) Zone Office National Capital Region (Zone Office NCR, which includes Metro Manila), all PEZA-registered companies in the region are now to use a revised checklist for Special Non-Immigrant 47(a)(2) Visa applications. While the documentary requirements enumerated on the checklist have not changed, the revised checklist indicates that all first time principal applicants must make a personal appearance to the Zone Office NCR for an interview.
Once the application and supporting documents have been filed, the PEZA evaluating officer will provide an evaluation report noting any additional required documents and the date and time of the interview. The principal applicant will then meet with the Zone Office NCR Manager for the interview. The Manager will ask questions about the applicant’s role in the Philippines and anything else the Manager considers important and relevant.
The personal appearance requirement does not apply to dependents or to extension applications.
