US Restricts Travelers from Brazil Due to COVID-19
May 26, 2020 | United States of America
President Trump has issued a proclamation that will limit foreign nationals from entering the United States who have traveled to Brazil. Foreign nationals who have been physically present in Brazil within 14 days of attempting to enter the United States will denied entry.
The restriction does not apply to US citizens, lawful permanent residences, foreign spouses of US citizens or lawful permanent residents and other limited categories of people.
From the original announcement made last week, the effective date has been moved up and is effective beginning today May 26, 2020 at 11:59pm EST. The president is citing the rapidly increasing numbers of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Brazil as the reason for implementing the travel ban.
