USCIS Extends Field Office and Application Support Center Closures For COVID-19 National Emergency
April 7, 2020 | United States of America
In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, USCIS has extended its office closures through May 3, 2020.
On March 18, 2020, USCIS announced a temporary suspension of in-person services and regular appointments at its asylum offices, field offices, and application support centers (ASCs) nationwide to reduce the risk of disease transmission. The agency’s office closures will remain in effect in response to the ongoing health crisis.
Individuals should call the USCIS Contact Center to schedule an emergency appointment. Applicants and petitioners with appointments scheduled at USCIS field offices will receive notices to reschedule their appointments. Applicants with appointments cancelled at asylum offices will receive a notice with a new appointment time, location, and date when the offices reopen. ASC appointments will be automatically rescheduled. Individuals will be notified of their new ASC appointment times by mail. All other appointments can be rescheduled by calling the USCIS Contact Center.
USCIS plans to re-open its offices on May 4, 2020 unless the COVID-19 National Emergency continues.
