The below provides a high level summary of immigration requirements for Lebanon. Whether a traveler may enter as a business visitor or requires a work permit depends on the traveler's nationality, duration of stay and activities in the country.

Allowable Activities

  • Attending business meetings and discussions 
  • Attending a conference or seminar as a speaker or a participant
  • Giving and/or receiving training

Basic Requirements

To be considered a business visitor, the foreign national must show:

  • That the purpose of the visit is limited, specific and determined prior to applying
  • That he/she will not be remunerated for work by any Lebanese sources
  • Document explaining the purpose of trip

Maximum Period Stay

The maximum amount of time a person is permitted to be in Lebanon as a business visitor is six months.  Those with valid residence in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries may be eligible to stay for up to 11 months.

Work Permit Types

The type of work authorization available in Lebanon is called the Work Permit.  Prior to submitting a work permit application, the host entity must undertake a local labor market search.
