Yvonne Toy

With nearly two decades of corporate immigration law experience, Yvonne’s practice encompasses both nonimmigrant and immigrant petitions with a particular focus on complex cases, including but not limited to EB-1 and O-1 extraordinary ability visas, audits, and Request for Evidence. Yvonne also advises corporate clients on the best practices around building an immigration program. Widely regarded as an expert in the field, Yvonne is frequently invited to present at various conferences, webinar/education tutorials, and events.

Before joining Pearl, Yvonne practiced more than eight years with one of the largest corporate immigration law firms. She was also an immigration attorney at an internationally renowned space research facility in Southern California where she developed and managed an in-house immigration program and served as the Responsible Officer for its J-1 Exchange Visitor Program.

With a passion in global affairs, Yvonne spent time in Taiwan working as a speech consultant for the Ministry of Economic Affairs on international trade issues and as an English teacher.

Connection to Immigration 

My family has a deep history with U.S. Immigration, starting with my Great-Grandfather coming to this country to work on the California railroad.

I’m a native San Franciscan, and my family came through Angel Island. The immigration officer heard our last name of “Choi” and made it “Toy” instead!
